Tucson losing another golf course
TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News
Now) - For at least the fourth time in seven years, a golf
course in the Tucson area is
shutting down. Tucson News Now has learned the Golf Club at Vistoso,
which is located in Oro Valley, is
suspending operations Friday,
June 1. There are 39 employees at
Vistoso and all could be losing
their jobs the next day. In April 2018, the Blanchard Golf Course on
Davis-Monthan
Air Force Base closed. Earlier this year, Pima County
started converting the long
shuttered Canoa Hills Golf
Course in Green Valley into a
community park. The last rounds were played on
the Santa Rita Golf Course on
Houghton Road in 2011. The courses have cited
decreasing play and increasing
utility costs, including water, as
major factors in their closures. Source:Tuscon News
